​Sandra Nakić Radoš

Sandra Nakić Radoš, PhD, Univ. Spec. Clin. Psych. is a clinical psychologist and a researcher in peripartum mental health. She is an associate professor at the Department of Psychology of the Croatian Catholic University (Zagreb, Croatia), where she teaches research methods and clinical psychology courses and introduced the course Reproductive Mental Health.

She received her PhD on postpartum depression and degree as a specialist in clinical psychology at the Faculty of Philosophy of the  University of Zagreb (Croatia). She completed further training at the University of Sussex (United Kingdom) on post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) after childbirth. Sandra gained knowledge and experience in various topics of reproductive mental health through many years of work at the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Clinical University Hospital "Sisters of Mercy" in Zagreb.

Sandra participated in a dozen scientific projects and is currently the head of a three-year project, MumHealth (2022-2024) of the Croatian Catholic University on maternal mental health. She is a PI for Croatia within the Horizon Europe project "Understanding, Predicting, and Treating Depression in Pregnancy to Improve Mothers and Offspring Mental Health Outcomes" (HappyMums; 2022-2026). She was enrolled as a vice-chair of COST Action Riseup-PPD "Research Innovation and Sustainable Pan-European Network in Peripartum Depression Disorder" (2019-2023), and a Virtual Networking Support Manager for COST Action DEVOTION "Perinatal Mental Health and Birth-Related Trauma: Maximising best practice and optimal outcomes". Sandra is currently a member of the Management Committee of the COST Action "Maternal Perinatal Stress and Adverse Outcomes in the Offspring: Maximising Infants' Development" (2023-2027).

She has published more than 50 scientific papers in reproductive mental health and peripartum mental health and had about 70 participations in scientific conferences, organising a dozen symposiums on reproductive mental health in Croatia. Sandra is co-editor of the Journal for Reproductive and Infant Psychology. In 2014, she co-founded the Centre for Reproductive Mental Health (Zagreb, Croatia) and is currently the president of this NGO dedicated to the well-being of pregnant women, mothers and their families.
